Hello. My name is Josephine. I am a 24 year-old First Class Honours arts graduate of King's College London looking for further horticultural opportunities.
I have several years' experience as an urban Tree Warden with the Tree Warden Society. I have also been a part of environmental Transition Town projects and voluntary work with the Wildlife Trust that involved community gardening, basic habitat management, and conservation. I have a keen knowledge and interest in medicinal plants, as well as herbalism (that works!), and look forward to implement this knowledge where possible. I am also a registered WWOOFer.
I am also vegan and keen to put my green fingers to growing vegetables. I do have experience of growing fruits such as apples, plums, and even lemons, as well as a range of herbs. Flower arranging is a pastime too - if you'd like to display the fruits of the gardening labours I'd be very happy to help.
For several years now I have been interested in permaculture practice, particularly for it's emphasis on sustainability. I have tended to the gardens of friends and family but I am excited about the opportunity to find more varied work and learn new skills: I am very fast in mastering new gardening methods, however this does not mean that I require supervision as I can quietly get the job done without fuss.
I am also strong in leg and limb and have a good, hard-worker ethic. Please note, however, that I do not have a lawnmower.
I look forward to working with you!
